BIOGRAPHY

Joana Metrass is a Portuguese actress based in Los Angeles. Her Italian, French, Argentinian, Jewish, Chinese and Cape Verdean heritage has enabled her to play a variety of international characters. 
Joana is known for her work in several international productions including Guy Ritchie's The Man From U.N.C.L.E and the ABC series Once Upon a Time, as Queen Guinevere of Camelot.

Over her ten-year career, Joana has starred in multiple Portuguese, British and US productions, in film, television and theater.
​
The movie We Die Young - where Joana plays the female lead opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme - made it to Netflix (US) 3rd most seen in 2022.
In 2023 her movie The Home fairy was the first Portuguese movie ever, to have a US commercial release.
An inspirational movie led by an "Erin Brockovich" type character (played by Joana). It was the 3rd most-seen in theatres Portuguese movie in 2022 winning a Sophia award (Portuguese Film Academy awards).
In her most recent projects, the movie Out of Hand was released in early 2024 and Deadly Games is due to be released by the end of 2024.
She attended the Portuguese National Conservatory of Theater Arts and also studied drama with prestigious acting coaches in New York and Italy, moving to London in 2013, where she landed her first international movie roles. Joana Metrass was awarded a Gulbenkian grant for professional development and relocated to Los Angeles where she was fortunate to start auditioning straight away and 'tested' for a series regular role on a major network TV show on her first pilot season, within the first week of her arrival.
